Biography PERSONALITY: On a good day, Kamui is reserved, aloof, and has an aura of quiet suffering that he is bearing as best he can when all he wants to do is go back to his dorm room. If you're nice to him, he will either kind of ignore it, or get awkward and blushy and confused. On a bad day, Kamui is snarly and hissy and cranky. If angered, he will lash out and absolutely not hesitate to draw blood. Beneath Kamui's difficult exterior is someone intensely loyal, sensitive, and easily hurt. He feels most comfortable being alone, but he's not a loner, per se. It boils down to him being pretty shy, which he covers up by assuming everyone is, at best, confrontational. The events that predate him coming to the Academy have left him extremely lonely; his life has revolved around his twin and to be without him -- at Subaru's insistance, no less -- is upsetting and confusing. Kamui has a blunt way of speaking and doesn't particularly care about being polite or showing much respect. Rank is not an indication of whether or not an individual deserves deferential treatment; with Kamui, that sort of thing must be earned before he'll do it without argument. So, he has a bit of an anti-authority bent, probably from being indulged by his mother and only having his grandmother to answer to. He also has a tendency to side with an underdog, and dislikes those with power bullying those below them, though he won't always get involved. Aside from the propensity to get into fights, the only other rule Kamui is going to completely ignore is the blood tablets. His clan has cultivated connections with a local blood bank that the clan pays to have access to. So he's never been exposed to the tablets and will find them disgusting. He'll be more interested in finding a willing donor from either the humans or other purebloods. IN-GAME HISTORY: Kamui was born into the Sumeragi clan, a pureblood clan that was once noble and important, but has faded into obscurity for reasons even he doesn't know. They keep to themselves on an estate somewhere north in the middle of nowhere, only interacting with other vampires or humans on a limited basis. Though quiet and isolated, Kamui received a great deal of love and a good education growing up. The most important person in Kamui's life is his twin brother, Subaru. They've been inseparable since birth, and to the point where Kamui based all his actions and decisions on what would Subaru want or what would make Subaru the happiest. Separation for more than a few days created an anxiety in Kamui that is difficult for him to control. Left to his own devices, Kamui would have stayed home with his little family forever, protecting their little estate, and been content. However, that's not possible anymore. Everyone knew his elder sister had an adventuring spirit, and left the nest years ago to make her life among the fashionistas of the world. However, no one seemed to realize Subaru would be vulnerable about that too. At some point recently, a pair of Hunters came to be in the local village, and Subaru was completely swept off his feet by the older brother, Seishirou. Kamui had no idea until it was too late to do anything about it other than threaten Seishirou at every opportunity and cling harder to Subaru. Then Subaru decided to run off with Seishirou and see the world. Before that, he arranged for Kamui to attend Cross Academy in order to help foster the spirit of human-Hunter-vampire relations (and to make friends). Kamui is... less than enthusiastic about this idea. Their mother and grandmother believe it to be good to reinforce their clan's affiliation with the Kurans, so Kamui's going.
